Do you ever face the error Blue Screen Message in Canvas Window saying that the file is unrendered, even if you have already use Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac to convert the AVCHD footage to MOV or Apple ProRes 422? Some of the customers have reported about the issue of files need to be rendered in FCP when they bring the output MOV files to the timeline.

Actually, it could be done by making the sequence settings in Final Cut Pro the same as that of the MOV file. Then you could import the MOV files from AVCHD to ProRes conversion by Final Mate for Mac, and edit HD videos in FCP without rendering.

The guide below will show you the simple steps for converting AVCHD to Apple ProRes 422 for Final Cut Pro 6 or 7, so that there is No more Blue Screen Unrendered Message.

Step 1. Import AVCHD files to Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac.
With Final Mate for Mac, you can import files with camcorder connected to iMac/MacBook, or AVCHD folder from hard drive. You will get pop-up message for camcorder wizard if camcorder is connected. Follow the wizard to import files. Alternatively, go to the Resource tab, and click the Add file path button to browse the AVCHD folder with .mts or .m2ts clips.

Step 2. Select files for AVCHD to Apple ProRes conversion.
Select the files from the Camcorder tab or Resource tab, drag and drop to the Movies tab, and you will face the message asking you to create one movie, or one movie for each clip. Choose "Create A Single Movie", if you want to join and merge the files. Choose "Create A Movie for Each File", if you would like to keep the number of files.

Step 3. Choose Apple ProRes 422 format with 1920x1080 for FCP.
Click the Export button, and go to the third button for editing software. Choose Final Cut Pro > Apple ProRes 422 as the output format. Choose 1920x1080 from the drop-down list of the output video size.

You can also change the output folder for the ProRes files if you like. Then click the OK button to start MTS/M2TS to ProRes 422 conversion.

When the conversion is done, just click the Browse for Export Path button on the Conversion window, and you will find the ProRes files for FCP editing without rendering. Run FCP 6 or 7, and choose File > Import > Files to browse the .mov files exported by Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac.

To get rid of the unrendered message, you can use the following method:

1. When you import the file to timeline, FCP shall automatically pop up a message like below asking you to change the sequence settings to match the clip settings or not. Click Yes, and there will be No BlueScreen Unrendered Message in Canvas Window.

2. If you do not get the pop-up message, you can change the sequence settings manually. Just right click on the sequence ID, and choose Settings, you will face the Sequence Settings window. Change the settings to that you choose in the output window of Final Mate for Mac.

For example, click the drop-down box for Aspect Ration and choose HDTV 1080i, choose Square for Pixel Aspect Ration, and choose Apple ProRes 422 Codec. Click OK to save, and import the .mov file to timeline.
