Convert Canon 450d/XSi H.264 MOV Footages to ProRes MOV for FCP/FCP7
Did you like Long Way Round? Yes, I loved it. I had to say it gave me some inspiration to make a bike tour happen. My favorite section was the Road of Bones bit, with the big fallen bridges, and the trucks going through the rivers. I often videoed mine, though I've not looked at all the footage yet (only just back, really). I did the majority of my filming by having camcorder (Canon 450d/XSi) in handlebar bag, and simply reaching in and holding taking it when I needed to, while riding one handed. I could articulate it well, hold it out, up, ahead, behind, and still ride comfortably. I never rode with it to my eye, though, always used autofocus, and just checked with my thumb it was zoomed out. Pretty good results from the footage I've viewed.

But now i wanna rearrange my all Canon 450d/XSi footages, edit with FCP on Mac and then upload to YouTube. All the footages have already stored on my Mac, but FCP 7 can’t let me import them, some people said I had to use Composer to transcode Canon 450d/XSi MOV to ProRes, but Composer failed importing, too. I went to an apple forum and there were a lot of choices to convert. Complicated and slow ones. But someone said about the Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac, I tried and finally convert my Canon 450d/XSi footages to ProRes successfully.
Following I will show someone who also use canon EOS 450d/XSi camera how to convert Canon 450D/XSi MOV to ProRes MOV for Final Cut.
Preparation: For the preparation of this conversion, connect Canon 450d/XSi camera to iMac or Macbook and transfer MOV video files into hard drive.
Step 1: Load Canon EOS 450d/XSi MOV video files into this program.
Specify the right video files and drag MOV video file into this software and another way to import video files is clicking “Add” button.

Step 2: Choose ProRes MOV as output video format, specify the destination folder.
Click “Format” icon and select “Apple ProRes 422 (*.mov)” for “Final Cut Pro” section as the exported video format. What’s more, you are free to choose the folder where you want to put converted MOV file by clicking the “Output” icon.

Step 3: Start this Canon EOS 450D Videos to FCP 7 ProRes Conversion.
Click the button “Convert”, this conversion will begin immediately. And after a few minutes, Canon 450d/XSi MOV files are ready for you to play and edit on Final Cut Pro.
