Panasonic announced a full roster of Full-High Definition (HD) camcorders to its 2011 line. The seven new easy-to-use camcorders, HDC-SD40, HDC-TM40, HDC-HS80, HDC-TM80, HDC-SD80, HDC-TM90 and HDC-SD90, all have a 1MOS sensor with 1920 x 1080 resolution feature wide-angle lenses. The Panasonic HDC-SD90 and HDC-TM90 are capable of shooting full-HD video with 1080/60p recording and can even record 3D video with the optional Panasonic 3D Conversion lens (VW-CLT1). For 1080/60p recording (Full-HD, 1920 x 1080, 60 progressive recording), there is only Windows version of bundled software in CD for easy editing. If you want to run the videos on Mac, you could face error message when trying to import Panasonic HDC-SD90 or TM90 high quality videos in Final Cut Express, you may need a third party application to Transcode SD90/TM90 AVCHD to apple built-in codec for FCE.

Apple Intermediate codec is one of the apple built-in codecs, while others could be Apple DV/DVCPRO – NTSC, DVCPRO50 – NTSC. Canon EOS Digital Rebel T2i / 550D recorded videos are saved in H.264 for image and linear PCM for audio. You can choose different recording modes like full HD 1920×1080p at 30/25/24 fps, HD/SD 1280×720p/640×480 at 60/50 fps.
